How do you freeze time??? like all those super heros, its actually impossible to freeze time. If you happen to freeze time, you would disapear.

First lets define what time is.

What is time??

Time is movement.

If there is no movement, there is no time.

So in order to freeze time, you would have to stop all moving things including the tiniest atom.

So the only way in order for that to happen is in a vacum. Time doesn't exist in a Vacum. Because theres nothing in a vacum hence nothing moving.

This brings us to the black hole, a huge vacum. Once inside the vacum time disapears.....and so do you.

Very nice place, much bigger than my old apartment, which was just a hotel room pretty much. Same Price!!

I moved in for 2 days, and already had a party. Asked the Maid to come clean up everything, 3.5 hours charged me 4 Dollars. Labor is a bit cheap, but if you want to buy that LV purse, its still 1000 US. Luxury Items are actually more expensive here than US. AND peopel buy them like crazy.

This does not stand up to Statistical data or if you apply different kind of lifestyle. I only picked couple everyday items.

My main point in this article is that the STUFF here is very expensive in relationship with local income. Life is pretty good if your on US Salary.

I have been living in SH for the past year now after college and I want to make an comparison between the cost of living here and USA. These figures are not exact figures, just an near estimate from what I have seen.

I know 1 US = 7.7RMB but if we compare income its 1 to 1

Average middle class Shanghainese income 5,000 rmb

Average middle class American income US 5,000 us

so its 1 : 1

The upper Middle class shanghai people here makes 15K-30K. plus wife, 5k-10k = 20k-40K / month

The upper Middle class American Makes 5k -10k, plus wife, 5k-10k. = 10k -20k / month

As you can see upper middle class Americans make less 50% less than upper middle class Shanghainese. On top of that American pays much more tax, 8.25% on all items and higher income Tax.

BUT!! China cost of living is much higher

1 Bottle of Shampoo in Shanghai cost 30 rmb | 1 Bottle of Shampoo in US cost 3 US

1 LG Cell phone 2500rmb | 1 LG cellphone 250US

2 people dining out 200rmb | 2 people dining out 30 us

1 Cup of Starbucks 30rmb | 1 Cup of Starbucks 3 us

1 Honda Civic 160,000rmb | 1 Honda Civic 16,000 us

1 Canon Digial Camera 2000rmb | 1 Canon Digial Camera 200us

As we can see china cost is 10x higher!!! But there are cheap places too. You can buy a take out for 10rmb a meal too. but its hard to go to the cheap places when there are soo many shopping malls and good restaurants.

On the contrast, Housing ratio compared to US is again 1:1

Comparing apples to apples

Rent 2 bedroom apt in shanghai = 2000
Rent 2 bedrom apt in New York = 2000

Buy apartment in New yourk 1.2 million 2 bed apt
Buy apartment in Shanghai 1.2 million 2 bed apt

So in conclusion, The income and housing ratio between US and China are 1:1, The upper middle class Chinese makes 50% more money than Americans, but the cost of living in China is 7-10x higher, which is also balanced out a little bit by the higher tax in America. Chinese people are better off if they choose to not by the imported stuff and buy only domestic brands. But thats almost near impossible. Local shanghainese make 2x more money than American, but overall they are worst off if they buy foreign brands, he/she will be paying 10x more than the average American.

Time to start blogging again. Its great to see what I've been doing those days back in college. So I want to see what I've been doing now, lets say 5 years from now.

Today Pretty marks my One year to date here in Shanghai. Lets get some history done. LIfe has completely changed since the college days. No more house parties, no more frat parties. Its all bigger and better here.

I've been working here at ABN AMRO for the past year now, most of you are like, wtf is that, its actually one of the largest banks in the world, more known in europe, not as much in the states. I work in the compliance department, mainly ensuring risk and assessment of accounts to see if they are terrorists. fun huh?

Over the past year, a lot as happened. I mean A LOT! compared to what i was use to in sunnyvale, it is night and day. I mean nothing ever happens in sunnyvale, really, im not exaggerating. But here, there are new restaurants, sky scrappers, subways, clubs, events opening every week! The shit just doesn't end. I call it the fast pace life, weeks fly by in a blink of an eye. Its like, monday, tuesday, wahh. its friday already?!?!

Peopel are more rude here, so i think im getting more rude too. I mean you can only be nice for so long until you say, fuck that you did not just shove me, BAM! and you start shoving back. I feel like im getting more aggresive at things that usually didn't offend me back at home. Now i understand why people are more mean in cities, cuz everyone is mean, if your not mean, you get stepped on.

I recently got a Civic, stop lafing, its pretty nice car, its not a mustang but I still like it. Great city car. Trust me. Small ass streets and traffic up the waazoo. perfect for it..
